Class of 1975 Honors A Classmate's Memory

The Class of 1975 has established a fund in memory of their classmate, Paul Kanzler. The fund will be used to enhance the anti-bullying portion of Central Catholic High School's Wellness Class curriculum. If you would like to support their efforts, click here and make your donation.

James Taber Endowment

On March 5, 2015 our students gathered to learn about the “James Taber Endowment Fund for Science Education” established by the Keogh Family in Memory of Nace and Francie Keogh. This $100,000 Endowment honors Central Catholic Science Teacher James Taber “for his life-long commitment to outstanding science teaching and the development of future scientists and teachers.”

Steve and Mary Keogh and their family established this endowment. Their son, Scott, is a 1987 graduate of Central Catholic High School and now Professor and Head of the Department of Evolution Ecology & Genetics at The Australian National University. His friend, Michael Heinz (also CCHS Class of ’87), Chair of Science at Downers Grove North High School, announced the gift at the Assembly. Both Scott and Michael were taught by Mr. Taber, who is in his 31st year of teaching at Central Catholic, and were inspired by the way he taught and how he mentored them as students and young men.
